early Literacy Intervention

The Words Alive Early Literacy Intervention program is a read-aloud program conducted at six at state-funded preschools and child development centers that serve pre-kindergarten-age children from mostly low-income households. read more.

 

Adolescent Book Group

The Words Alive Adolescent Book Group program serves at-risk adolescents, most of whom have been referred to specialized community schools by the Juvenile Court system and have experienced extraordinary circumstances such as violence, pregnancy and homelessness. read more.

Community Reading Initiative

The Community Reading Initiative encompasses Words Alive programs and initiatives that reach out to the general community and encourage a love of reading among all age groups and populations. Programs include the Libraries Project and Read to Me workshops. Read more. read more.

 

Words Alive Westreich scholarships

Words Alive is pleased to announced the 2009 Words Alive Westreich Scholarship recipients. Each will receive a minimum of $250 and a maximum of $5,000 over the course of the 2009-2010 academic year. read more.

The Words Alive Westreich Scholarship Program awards up to six scholarships a year to past ABG program participants to support them in their pursuit of higher education. read more.
